About Us

The Amazon Refuge Lodge is a complex built in the shape of the Constellation Orion. It sits on 100 acres of rainforest named Chingana. The lodge is constructed with naturally felled trees: Mahogany, Rosewood, Iron Wood, and is the last human outpost on the San Juan de Yanayacu River.

The purpose of the refuge is to provide safe, comfortable accommodations under the guidance of expert naturalist guides for all visitors.

This web site was developed to give visitors a visual look at the lodge, and highlight the activities available around Chingana. The site is owned by Juan Carlos Palomino Bernt, Ken Milsaps, Davarian Hall, and RoKeco, a partner in Amazon Refuge, S.A.C registered in Peru.

Our lodge has been referred to as: "The Amazon Refuge Lodge", "Amazon Refuge Wildlife Conservation Center", "Emerald Tours", "Chingana", "Amazon Refuge", and other various combinations. The lodge, at this location, has been in operation for over a decade.

LodgeAmazon.com, and AmazonRefugeLodge.com are not a Travel Agency, nor Seller of Travel, so when you decide to visit the lodge through this web site, you will be booking your stay directly with one of the lodge owners, so feel confident to contact us for our standard lodge stay, educational symposium, or corporate event.
