Lake Yarina:   4°22'58.50"S   73°17'2.26"W

Lake Yarina is 3 ½ miles South South East of the Amazon Refuge Lodge, as the crow flies.

This Blackwater lake is one of the Mirrors of the Amazon, and has a very mystical and untouched appearance. We use this location as our primary camping site, birding venue, and remote native fishing area.

The hike from the lodge is and experience you will never forget, the jungle and waterways are full of wildlife, including: Birds, Primates, Predators, and Exotic Fish species.

Depending on the conditions of the Yanayacu River, it can take between 6 and 2 hours to hike there. At the present time accessibility is optimum, and now is the time to take advantage of this unique Rainforest Expedition.

You can see a Bird Species list here, and in the gallery (right) are many pictures of the Fish, Hoatzin birds, and more.
